UpliftingOthers.org is a community for two categories of people who must join if they wish to use this website to provide information or communicate:-
Joining is free!
- Directory Members – Here people can publicise their projects for free. Here people can list what their community initiative. What they are involved in, maybe a charity, school, a farm, a club, a shop.
- User Members – can communicate with each other and with the people listed in the Directory. Users can be volunteers, visitors, partners, sponsors who access this website for information.
Joining is free! All people who join are User Members.
All Members can
- post a comment or send a message to a specific listing within the Directory.
- post comments in the Community pages.
- post a news item.
- submit photos and social media links.
After they join / sign up, Directory Members can create or edit their listings. They can give the following information:-
- Listing Name (Name of Project, School, Shop, Farm, Charity, Club…)
- What they do (Suggestions:- orphanage, school, training provider, community support, environment, conservation, animal care, agriculture, permaculture, building, construction, carpentry, engineering, health care, medical care, crafts, office administration, IT)
- Mission, goals, aims
- What kind of business entity (NGO, charity, voluntary, company, etc)
- Where they are based
- Contact Details
- Bank Details or Mobile Payment Details
They can also explain who they are and how and why they started the project.
They can also explain what support they would like such as funding, desired items (such as seeds, books, stationery, laptops, mobiles).
If volunteers are required, they should explain what they expect from the volunteers and also what support they would offer the volunteers in return.
If they would like volunteers to support them, they should explain what skillsets and experience they wish for (age range, languages spoken, qualifications, previous work experience etc).
If User Members visit or volunteer or support any of the projects, they are able to submit a testimonial, give a review and a 5 star rating (1 * poor ….. 5* excellent)
They can fill their
- name,
- contact details including email address.
- age range (20+, 30+, 40+, 50+)
- country of residence
- job title (e.g. school pupil, student, teacher, doctor, retired)
- skill set or background (horticulture, health, languages spoken, sport, ICT, qualifications, work experience,…)
